Uncle Rob has many years of experience working, advocating and supporting the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community and is highly respected in the indigenous community for his work. Uncle Rob’s long history with Umpi Korumba dates back to 1997.

Through his interest in the corporation and a willingness to learn more about how the corporation can achieve its mission Leroy was nominated as a director in 2012. Leroy brought a commitment to improving and empowering the life of the corporation’s tenants through his first hand experiences as a past tenant and as a now member of Umpi Korumba Board of Directors including, access to quality services, feeling secure, and having pride in homes Umpi Korumba provide, quality improvement of its service to its tenants. Tenants being informed and included in the way Umpi Korumba services are planned and delivered promoting connections in the community. Reducing barriers to learning and participation to support the aspirations of Umpi Korumba tenants and the communities they live
Emily Doctor

Being a young director on the board, Emily presents the views and observations of the younger indigenous generation and the current issues they face. As the only indigenous female on the board, she brings special knowledge on women’s issues and of key target groups accessing Umpi Korumba Housing. In 2012 Emily was nominated to the board of directors to provide a voice for the organisation’s members and stakeholders that would influence future directions and individual strategies for the organisation.
